The Maple River Dollars for Scholars is a local voluntary, non-profit organization established in 1993 when the Amboy, Good Thunder, Mapleton and Minnesota Lake Schools combined to become Maple River Schools. Through various fund-raising efforts and donations from businesses and individuals, MRDFS is able to award thousands of dollars every year in scholarships to graduating seniors who wish to pursue secondary education opportunities. Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievements, participation in extra curricular activities, unusual circumstances and involvement in community service.
